Abdul-Rasheed Muri-Okunola is a man of precision and dedication. His journey as a young student at Kings College in Lagos to the helms of administration and the legal world is a testament to his unyielding commitment to excellence. As a student, Abdul- Rasheed’s path was marked with brilliance. He excelled in his Junior and Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations at Federal Government College and Kings College, respectively.

His thirst for knowledge led him to Lagos State University, where he embarked on a six-year journey to obtain his LLB degree in 2001. His legal acumen was further honed at the Nigeria Law School 2002 when he bagged his Bachelors Degree in Law. After years of academic rigour, Rasheed stepped into the world of work with a fierce determination to make his mark.

His career took flight when he joined the law firm of Adepetun, Caxton-Martins & Agbor as an Associate Counsel. There, he delved into the intricacies of legal practice, drafting agreements, contracts, briefs, and other legal memoranda. His responsibilities extended to instituting and prosecuting civil actions and conducting legal research, demonstrating his attention to detail and precision.

His debut into the State Public Service began in Y2007 when he was appointed by the erstwhile Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola as his Personal Assistant, subsequently he was appointed Principal Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and Chairman, Lagos State Special Committee on Students Affairs where he ensured the effective implementation of key state policies on Education.

In pursuant of his hearty desires in the area of public policies and passion for Public Service particularly matters relating to people management, Mr. Muri-Okunola gained employment into the Mainstream Civil Service as Chief Admin. & Human Resource Officer, GL.14 and has risen to the peak of the esteemed Cadre.

Mr. Muri-Okunola is a change- agent and reformer, this is evident in his achievements as Director, Admin. & HR in the Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority where he developed a structure which translated into proper alignment of the career of Officers in tandem with their colleagues in the mainstream Civil Service.

All his laudable achievements transcended to his recognition for appointment as General Manager, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency. He has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence, attention to detail and precision.

His journey from a diligent student to a respected legal practitioner and Public Servant is a testament to his unwavering dedication and remarkable skills. As he looks to the future, it is apparent that his energetic and result oriented approach will continue to leave an indelible mark in the Human Resource and Administrative landscape as well as the Public Service at Large.

He is a member of The Nigerian Bar Association, The International Bar Association and Fellow of Association of Human Resource Practitioners of Nigeria.
