FROM GRIEF TO GROWTH: CHADASH EMPOWERMENT EMPOWERS 3,000 OGUN WIDOWS WITH CASH GRANTS AND BUSINESS TOOLS

Chadash Empowerment Foundation successfully hosted the 5th edition of our International Widows’ Day Empowerment Programme at the Ake Palace Amphitheatre, Abeokuta.
Seeing over 3,000 widows from across Ogun State gather with renewed hope and confidence was a powerful reminder of why we remain committed to restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and empowering vulnerable women to become financially independent.
As part of this year’s programme, we distributed vocational tools including sewing machines, grinding machines, hair dryers, makeup kits, deep freezers, and gas cookers to beneficiaries who had successfully completed our vocational training programmes. In addition, 2,000 widows received cash grants of ₦50,000 each to strengthen and expand their businesses.

At Chadash Foundation, we believe empowerment goes beyond giving—it is about equipping people with the skills, resources, and confidence to build sustainable livelihoods. I encouraged every beneficiary to make the best use of these opportunities as a stepping stone toward lasting economic independence.
I am deeply grateful to the Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, for her kind words and unwavering support. I also appreciate the former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Gomez, whose recognition of this initiative further inspires us to do even more.
The heartfelt testimonies from the beneficiaries reaffirm our mission. Their stories of renewed hope, restored confidence, and brighter futures continue to motivate us.
To God be the glory, the Chadash Foundation has now empowered over 15,000 widows across Ogun State and the FCT. We remain steadfast in our commitment to transforming lives, one family at a time.
Together, we are turning grief into growth, despair into hope, and challenges into opportunities.
