Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, a frontline aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Adamawa State, has raised concerns over the conduct of the exercise, alleging irregularities in the collation of results while calling on his supporters to remain calm and peaceful.

The governorship primary, which took place on Thursday, ended with the declaration of Ahmed Galadima, former Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), as the winner of the contest.

Reacting to the outcome, Haske expressed dissatisfaction with aspects of the process, particularly the collation stage, which he said did not reflect the expectations of many party members and stakeholders who participated in the exercise across the state.

According to him, the integrity of any democratic process depends heavily on transparency, fairness, and credibility, stressing that concerns raised by aspirants and delegates should not be ignored. He maintained that his decision to speak out was not aimed at creating division within the party but rather to ensure that due process and internal democracy are upheld within the APC.

Haske, however, urged his supporters across Adamawa State to remain peaceful, orderly, and law-abiding, emphasizing the need to protect the unity and stability of the party despite the outcome of the primary election.

He thanked party loyalists, delegates, youth groups, women supporters, and political associates who stood by his ambition throughout the campaign period, describing their support and commitment as overwhelming and encouraging.

The APC aspirant further reiterated his commitment to the progress of Adamawa State and the development of the party, noting that politics should be guided by service, fairness, and the collective interest of the people.

Political observers say the development may spark further consultations among party stakeholders in the state as attention gradually shifts toward preparations for the next phase of the electoral process.
