A blend of legal expertise, public service, and youthful political drive, Basirat Damilola Marshal, popularly known as Dami Marshal, is steadily rising in Lagos politics as she expands her footprint from law and governance into elective leadership.

She currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts, and Culture to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, where she supports initiatives aimed at strengthening the creative economy and promoting cultural development across the state.

Born into the family of Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Damilola Marshal combines a strong cultural heritage with an extensive academic and professional background in law. She studied law at Houdegbe North American University before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School in Abuja and Lagos, where she was called to the Bar in 2015. She later earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Lagos in 2022.

Before her appointment into public office, she practiced law for over 12 years and served as Principal Partner at Damilola Ayinde Marshal & Company, handling cases spanning corporate, family, property, and criminal law.

In government, she has championed youth and creative-focused programs, including initiatives like the Eko Arts and Crafts Competition, designed to discover and empower emerging talents while linking them with industry opportunities.

Recently, her political profile further expanded as she emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections marking a significant step in her transition from public administration to elective representation in Lagos politics.
