The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, joined APC governors from the North-Central geopolitical zone, including the Federal Capital Territory, alongside party leaders, stakeholders and supporters at the North-Central Grand Rally, where participants endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, for a second term in 2027.

The endorsement was presented as an expression of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, the Renewed Hope Agenda and the administration’s stated commitment to economic reforms, national development and inclusive governance.

A key issue highlighted in the message was the principle of an eight-year rotational presidency between Northern and Southern Nigeria. Supporters of this arrangement argue that it can strengthen national unity, promote political stability and foster equity and mutual trust among Nigeria’s diverse regions.

As the country approaches the 2027 general elections, Senator Akume called on political leaders, stakeholders and Nigerians across regional and party lines to consider national cohesion and democratic stability in their political engagements.

The North-Central zone, according to the statement, remains committed to supporting the administration’s development agenda and working towards the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in 2027.
