The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, FCA, popularly known as Yayi, has been successfully screened and cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Screening Committee as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The screening exercise took place at the Kaduna Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, under the leadership of the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Obi Okoye. Other members of the screening committee included the APC National Deputy Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosimi Meseko; the APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel; and Hon. Tolu Bankole.

During the exercise, members of the committee reportedly commended Senator Adeola for his developmental strides in governance and his contributions to the growth and stability of the APC. They described him as a model progressive whose commitment to party affairs and people-oriented representation continues to stand out within the ruling party.

Speaking after the screening, Senator Adeola reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining developmental initiatives across Ogun State while advancing the progressive ideals and reform-driven agenda of the APC for the benefit of the people.

The Ogun West lawmaker was accompanied to the screening venue by a high-powered delegation from Ogun State and Abuja, including the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Hon. Kayode Amusan; Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat (Gaco), Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; the Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Olabimtan; Hon. Kunle Adeyemi; Hon. Babatunde Adejare; Hon. Otunba Kope; alongside several senior government officials, party leaders, and supporters.
