Remi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Aminu Ado Bayero at his Palace.
She was accompanied by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin; Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia; FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, among others.
Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu arrived in Kano to a rousing welcome at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport around 10:15 am. She was received by the Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, members of his cabinet, and thousands of NNPP loyalists.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu will begin a one-day visit to the ancient city of Kano on Monday where she is expected to inaugurate the Faculty of Law Building named after her at the Maryam Abacha University, Kano.
While addressing reporters in Kano, Sanusi Bature, Director General of Media and Publicity to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, said adequate security arrangements had been put in place to ensure smooth activities during the visit.
He said the state government, alongside the police, had drafted a compressive security network to provide the required security.
Bature said the state government and security agencies were working round the clock to provide a peaceful atmosphere for the visitors.
The government, therefore, appealed to residents to conduct themselves peacefully and come out en masse to receive the first lady.
