The Egbere Emere Okori, Oneh Eh Eta Ogale, Oneh Eh Nchia X of Eleme kingdom, HRH. Amb, Dr Appolus Chu has been nominated for the national honour, OFR, OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC of Nigeria, because of his contributions to achieving a united Nigeria through building bridges of peaceful coexistence, togetherness, peace and unity among traditional rulers in the country and beyond and also for his philanthropic nature.
National honour of OFR will be conferred on him by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his Excellency Muhammadu Buhari on the 11th of October, in Abuja.
This honour will spur King Chu to do more in building bridges and enhancing peaceful togetherness for nation-building and human development.
Since the inception of the Buhari-led administration, national honours have not been conferred on anyone, unlike previous governments that confer a thousand honours yearly.
King Chu is the number 49 in the category of the OFR. Officially, King Chu’s name is one of the federal government’s protocol lists of senior citizens gazetted.
