The Ohaneze Ndigbo Ghana, HRH. Ihenatu Chukwudi celebrated the New Yam Festival as an effort to promote the Igbo culture in Diaspora.
The event had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life, Ghana political leaders and royal fathers from Ghana, Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
Among the royal fathers present were HRH. the Egbere Emere Okori & Oneh Eh Nchia X of Eleme Kingdom, Rivers state, Nigeria, king Dr Appolus Chu, the Etsu Nupe and chairman Coordinating Committee, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, HRH. Alh Yahaya Abubakar, represented by the emir of Kagara in Niger state, HRH. Attahiru Ahmed-Gunna and royal fathers from all regions of Ghana and others.
King Chu appreciated the government of Ghana for providing a safe and conducive environment for Nigerians to thrive in their work and businesses.
He advised Nigerians in Ghana to be law-abiding citizens to flag off the dignity of the country.
King Chu commended the Ohaneza Ndigbo for upholding and maintaining the Igbo culture, he prayed for more bountiful harvests and a continuous peaceful coexistence among the Igbo community and their host country.
