The Governor of Lagos State joined Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former President Goodluck Jonathan, ex-Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, Governors Dapo Abiodun and Godwin Obaseki and other eminent Nigerians to bid final farewell to former Head of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan at the Cathedral Church Of Christ, Marina.

In his words, he said:’Chief Shonekan led a remarkable life as a private sector titan and a leader of Nigeria in a period of uncertainty. Generations of Nigerians will remain appreciative of Shonekan’s courage, sacrifice and stabilising influence on the polity.’

‘Nigeria has lost a truly great man in Chief Shonekan, a true leader and visionary, a man whose immense success in life did not alter his essential humility and goodness.’
