Hon. Sola Olofin congratulates Baba Bisi Akande on his 87th birthday, celebrating a leader of enduring legacy.

Today, I, on behalf of myself and the entire members of BAT vanguard worldwide, celebrate and rejoice with our indefatigable leader, mentor, pillar and Icon of democracy, Chief Bisi Akande, elder statesman, former governor of Osun State and the first Chairman of our great Party, All Progressives Congress, on his 87th birthday on January 16, 2026.
Baba Akande has contributed tremendously to the growth and development of this country and her growing democracy.
Baba political sagacity was massively deployed when he served as the Interim Chairman of APC, Baba laid the building blocks for a political edifice that, for the first time in Nigeria’s political history, unseated an incumbent in the centre in 2015.
Baba Akande deserves our praise and gratitude for his mentorship, showing and providing leadership, hard work, wisdom and labour of love for our party and country.
Yes, indeed we must thank him for his contributions to our APC, our growing democrracy and our beloved country.
Baba remains a mentor and leader for his integrity, honesty, uprightness, dedication, focus and consistent belief in the values that strengthen, embolden and empower the nation.
I am highly indebted to this wonderful leader of leaders, my leader, Baba Akande for his inspiration, advice and encouragement which he cheerfully dishes out to me whenever I visit him.
It is joyful to know that Baba’s support for my Principal, President Bola Ahmed TIinubu, GCFR and the success stories of the administration and Renewed Hope Agenda is total, yielding and unprecedented.
What else can I say, Baba Bisi Akande is a blessing to the Yoruba and Nigeria indeed.
May the grace of God that has kept him this far continues more than ever before to keep and preserve him in Jesus name.
