The Executive Chairman Abaji Area Council Honourable Abubakar Umar, has flagged off the distribution of 50kg bags of guinea corn as palliative across the 10 political ward of Abaji Area Council.

Speaking Onbehalf of the Executive Chairman Abaji Area Council, The Vice chairman Abaji Area Council Hon. Isah Makkah stated that the distribution, was aimed at mitigating the hardship triggered by the rising costs of food items and other essential commodities.

He emphasised that Abaji Area Council will continue to support the needs of her people with a view of tackling the hardship in the land.

The Chief of staff Abaji Area Council Honourable Mohammed Amin Kandi, noted that the distribution exercise is to targets the most vulnerable members of each ward in order to reduce the burden of the high cost of living across the metropolis of AAC, adding that the current economic hardship is not only in Abaji Area Council, but it is a global crisis.

Honourable Mohammed Angulu Bello, The AUA campaign DG has urged the people of each Ward, particularly those who do not have a means of livelihood, to engage in agriculture, while assuring them of all the needed supports by the government of Abaji Area Council.

However, the campaign DG warned that AUA administration would not condone anyone sabotaging her efforts in peacebuilding.
