Pelumi Olajengbesi, a prominent chieftain of the Accord Party, has officially emerged as the party’s candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Olajengbesi was presented with his Certificate of Return on Friday in the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), marking a significant milestone in his political journey and the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.

A legal practitioner and respected grassroots mobiliser, Olajengbesi currently serves as the spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council for the re-election of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke. He is also the Convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.

Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, Olajengbesi expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of the Accord Party, stakeholders, and supporters for entrusting him with the party’s mandate. He described the nomination as both an honour and a responsibility, pledging to work tirelessly toward delivering effective representation for the people of Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

The Accord Party candidate also declared his readiness to challenge the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has represented the constituency for over two decades.

According to Olajengbesi, the constituency deserves a new era of purposeful leadership driven by youthful energy, innovation, and fresh ideas capable of addressing the developmental needs of the people.

“Our constituency has been stuck in the same place because we keep recycling the same ideas and the same style of representation since the beginning of the Fourth Republic,” he stated.

“This moment is one of gratitude, humility, and renewed commitment to the service of our people. I give all glory to God Almighty whose grace and guidance have brought us this far. I am deeply grateful to our party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and the countless men and women who believe in our shared vision for a better and more prosperous Oriade/Obokun.

“This certificate is not just a symbol of candidature; it is a reminder of the responsibility before us and the collective journey we must undertake together. The work begins now. By God’s grace, with unity, dedication, and the support of our people, we will build a future that reflects the hopes and aspirations of every community across our constituency.”

Olajengbesi, an indigene of Ijebu-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, previously contested for the same House of Representatives seat in 2019 and remains a strong advocate for youth inclusion, community development, and people-centered governance.
