GUSAU, ZAMFARA — The Maituta Network (MTN) is set to host the Maituta Network Unity Cup, a youth-focused football tournament aimed at promoting unity, youth empowerment, community engagement and sporting development in Zamfara State.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on October 10th and 11th, 2026, at the Trade Fair, Gusau, Zamfara State.

The initiative is being presented under the leadership of Alh. Sanusi Maituta (MON), with Muhammad Sanusi Maituta serving as patron.

The Unity Cup will feature teams representing Tsafe, Bungudu, Maru and Gusau, with the fixtures designed to bring young people from different communities together through football.

According to the organisers, the tournament carries the motto “Movement for Youth Empowerment,” reflecting its broader objective of using sports as a platform to inspire young people, strengthen community relationships and create opportunities for youth participation.

Importantly, participation and access to the tournament are completely free, providing an opportunity for football enthusiasts and members of the public to attend and support the young talents.

The Maituta Network Unity Cup is expected to attract football fans, community leaders, young people and stakeholders from across Gusau and surrounding communities.
