Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Thursday, January 2, 2026, the Governor formally registered as a member of the APC and received his membership card at the Government House, Rayfield. He expressed gratitude to God for divine guidance, noting that the decision followed prayers, extensive consultations, and careful reflection on the best interests of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang said he has embraced the APC as a platform to further promote peace, unity, and sustainable development across the state. He emphasized that his decision was not driven by personal ambition and does not signify hostility toward any individual or group. He reaffirmed his deep appreciation to his former political associates and all those who supported his emergence as Governor.

Reflecting on the 2023 general elections, the Governor described them as among the most challenging in Plateau State’s history, adding that his victory was made possible solely by the grace of God. Looking ahead to 2027, he called on all political actors to uphold peace and unity, expressing confidence that Plateau State will stand firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated his commitment to uniting Plateau State beyond partisan lines, stressing that the state has endured prolonged divisions. According to him, the time has come to replace bitterness with peace, hatred with love, and division with unity, so that Plateau can move forward as one people.

He pledged to work closely with party leaders, stakeholders, and the people of Plateau State to accelerate development and deliver the dividends of democracy. “We have come to add value, not subtract; to build, not divide,” the Governor affirmed.
