Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission recently paid a courtesy visit to Director-General/CEO of SMEDAN (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria) is Charles Odii the purpose of visit is focused on expanding access to capital markets for Nigeria’s SMEs.

With a shared goal of increasing the number of businesses leveraging the capital market for growth, they discussed the importance of creating awareness and building the capacity of relevant SMEs to take advantage of these opportunities.

They will work closely with the newly-established Office of Small Business Advocacy (OSBA) at the SEC to drive this effort—ensuring more Nigerian businesses are investment-ready, properly structured, and well-informed about alternative financing pathways.
