The Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, has distributed 2,500 bags of rice and other palliative’s to cushion the effects of economic hardship on residents in the area.

Chairman of the Ojodu LCDA, David Odunmbaku, stated this at a media briefing to highlight activities of his administration since assumption as well as future projects.

Odunmbaku said the 2,500 five kilogram bags of rice were distributed to the various wards to cushion the effect of the hardship, saying that the council ensured that the bags of rice got to those who needed them most.

He added that more of such palliatives would soon be distributed shortly.

He said although the economic situation had been challenging, the council had been able to procure 20 mini buses and employed drivers to convey workers to their offices as well as children to their schools.

The chairman, also said the Local council development Area had this year continued to roll out palliatives and provide interventions in various sectors which included health, education, youths and women empowerment, infrastructure, sports, alternative energy among other initiatives for the benefit of residents.

He also said the council was committed to support and work collaboratively with the Lagos State Government’s Ministries, on health insurance scheme, roads’ rehabilitation, adopt a school programme, among others while strengthening partnership with local and foreign organisations to further alleviate the plight of residents.
