A good name is worth more than silver and gold. The Egbere Emere Okori and Oneh Eh Nchia the X of Eleme kingdom, his royal highness, king Appolus Chu, OFR stated this during the 7th memorial public lecture of the late Emir ( king) of Borgu in Niger state, which was held at the Musa Yar’adua Center Abuja.
The theme of the memorial was the lifetime of HRH. Sen. Haliru Dantoro; Lessons for contemporary Nigeria.
While speaking at the event king Chu noted that the late Emir has left legacies which was the reason for the gathering as such everyone should emulate the late king, whose name is celebrated years after his death.
Dignitaries present at the memorial include the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his excellency Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the minister of local government affairs, Alh. Kabiru Hassan. The Jagaban of Borgu, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was represented. Former governor of Benue state, George Akume. The Etsu Nupe, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar and many others.
