Amb. Saheed Akanmu Bags Golden Leadership Award

Ambassador Saheed Olatokunbo Akanmu (Arch.), a Yewa-born entrepreneur, architect, and construction leader, has been honoured with the Golden Role Model Award by the Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative, in recognition of his contributions to infrastructure development, enterprise, and national growth. An endeavor that earned him the Guardian Top 100 strategic CEO’s of Nigeria’s most transformative companies of 2025, and a Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) and his induction as an Associate Fellow of the British American Institute (UK).

He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ashmark Global Resources Limited, a Lagos-based architecture and civil construction firm known for delivering complex projects with professionalism, safety, and efficiency. Under his leadership, the company has contributed to major national infrastructure efforts, including participation in strategic corridors such as the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Lagos–Calabar Highway, Sokoto–Badagry Highway, and the Sagamu–Papalanto–Ilaro reinforced concrete road, alongside multiple energy infrastructure developments like CNG, PMS, and AGO stations for organizations such as Tetracore Energy Group, and Obat Energy, reinforcing his capacity to operate across critical sectors of the economy.

In a remarkable gesture, he dedicated the award to Senator Adeola Olamilekan popularly knows as YAYI, citing his empathetic leadership, infrastructural strides, and consistent empowerment of ordinary Nigerians as values that align with his own philosophy of inclusive development and shared prosperity.

Ambassador Akanmu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, and a Master’s Degree in Architectural Science from Caleb University, Lagos, combining strong academic grounding with extensive field experience across Nigeria’s infrastructure and energy landscape.

Beyond enterprise, he is actively engaged in humanitarian service, youth empowerment, and nation-building initiatives, driven by a firm belief that sustainable progress is achieved through the intersection of enterprise, leadership, and social responsibility.
