As part of the Commission’s commitment to rid the capital market in Nigeria of unscrupulous elements, ensure investor protection and increased financial literacy for investors and the public, the Commission conducted another awareness campaign titled, Say No to Ponzi Schemes” at the Old and International Garki Markets today.

Addressing traders and shoppers in the markets, the DG reiterated that only the SEC Nigeria licence validates a firm(s) or individual(s) to operate in the Nigerian capital market, not a CAC or EFCC approval.

Thereafter, the SEC team engaged directly with market participants and traders sharing information – addressing concerns, and reinforcing the importance of vigilance, due diligence and background checks before investing.

At SEC Nigeria, we believe that empowering the public with knowledge is a critical step toward building a safe, fair, and inclusive capital market.

Say NO to Ponzi. Stay informed. Stay protected.
