Felix Amaechi Obuah was born on December 16th. Hailing from Omoku, Rivers State, Obuah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
Obuah boasts a flourishing business career spanning over two and a half decades. His diverse portfolio encompasses properties, real estate, hotels, resorts, oil ventures, trading businesses, and construction companies.
Obuah’s political journey includes serving as the chairman of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State. He also ascended to the national chairmanship of the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Landlords Association of Nigeria (OMPALAN).
A pivotal figure in Rivers State PDP, Obuah became the chairman in 2013 and secured a second term in 2016. He played a prominent role in the 2015 elections, actively supporting the successful campaign of Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. Briefly, Obuah served as the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency in 2015.
Obuah’s commitment extends beyond business and politics. He is widely regarded as a generous philanthropist, known as the “largest single individual employer of labour” in Rivers State. His numerous companies provide employment opportunities for thousands of youths.
Driven by a desire to empower the younger generation, Obuah has established scholarships for countless Rivers and non-Rivers students. His dedication to education is further evidenced by founding the first private school in Omoku, Agwubata College of Commerce, which later transformed into Ogba Comprehensive High School.
Felix Obuah’s influence in Rivers State is undeniable. In 2023, he faced pressure to contest the governorship elections, highlighting his perceived potential as a future leader. Whether he pursues this path or continues his current endeavors, Obuah will likely remain a prominent figure in the state’s business, political, and social landscape.
