OurNigeria News Magazine has announced the nomination of Hon. Mubarak Ahmad Tijjani for the Plato Leadership Award for Emerging Politician of the Year at the forthcoming 7th OurNigeria News Awards, in recognition of his intellectual depth, ethical political engagement, and growing influence in public service.

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on January 31, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, where Hon. Tijjani will be formally honoured alongside prominent national figures. Notable awardees include the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, who will receive the Man of the Year Award; Governor Siminalayi Fubara, named Governor of the Year; and Gen. Adetokunbo Fayemiwo (Rtd.), recipient of the TY Buratai Excellence Award in Military Leadership.
Also to be recognised is Mr. Charles Chuka Aniagolu of ARISE TV, who will receive the Lawrence Bilal Audu Journalist of the Year Award, alongside other distinguished honourees across various sectors.
The ceremony will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd.), CFR, with the United States Ambassador to Nigeria serving as Special Guest of Honour and Award Presenter.
According to OurNigeria News Magazine, Hon. Tijjani’s nomination followed a rigorous selection process conducted by its editorial leadership and awards planning committee. The process focused on identifying emerging political leaders whose conduct reflects wisdom, moderation, justice, and a genuine commitment to the common good.
The Plato Leadership Award for Emerging Politician of the Year is reserved for young political figures who demonstrate principled leadership and a clear vision for societal development—values closely aligned with the philosophical ideals of Plato and considered essential to Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
In its official nomination letter, the management of OurNigeria News noted that Hon. Tijjani’s rising profile in public life, combined with his ethical approach to leadership and policy engagement, distinguished him as one of Nigeria’s most promising emerging political leaders.
The 7th OurNigeria News Awards, themed “Providing a Podium for Unsung Heroes,” is part of the magazine’s annual initiative to celebrate Nigerians whose leadership, innovation, and service continue to make meaningful contributions to national development.
