He emphasized that before any protest can take place, the police must be duly informed. According to him, the police will assess the reasons behind the protest to determine if police will give approval to that protest or if the matter can be resolved through dialogue. He advised that if the issue is negotiable, the people should engage directly with the organizations involved instead of taking to the streets.

The Commissioner also discussed various security measures with traditional rulers in Eleme, urging them to collaborate with the police to reduce crime and criminal activities to the barest minimum in Eleme Kingdom.

In attendance were the Oneh Eh Nchia X, His Royal Highness King Dr. Appolus Chu, the Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Brain Gokpa, His Eminence Archbishop JP Katie, Chief Peter Olukawi, and several other chiefs and elders from Eleme Kingdom.

The meeting took place yesterday, February 20, 2025, at the police headquarters in Port Harcourt.
